What happened: Haley, on Sunday, told “Face the nation” that “it should never come to this.” She responded to a question about whether she would revive that Trump-era policies to deter illegal border crossings.
“No, we shouldn’t separate families, but we shouldn’t take in families over which we have no control,” she said.

In her opinion, the US should stop immigration until immigration reform comes into force. “I think we need to stop the border bleeding and do full immigration reform before we can even think about taking anyone else into this country.”
“We shouldn’t wait for another 9/11 to realize that Republicans and Democrats need to step in and craft immigration reform and start working for the American people, not the other way around.”
