Paul Graham Says Microsoft Bing Challenges Google With ChatGPT More…

Renowned venture capitalist Paul Graham explained that if OpenAI’s chatGPT keeps people from writing, it can also keep them from having “the ideas that writing breeds”.

What happened: Share observations with its 1.6 million Twitter Followers, Graham said that a month ago, ChatGPT screenshots suddenly started filling up his social media feed. “They’ve become a media type, like JPGs and videos.”

He then tweeted that AI could essentially get people to come up with ideas that spark manual writing. “Even bad writing must make the writer think. Confused, probably, but more than he would have thought if he hadn’t tried to write.”

Why it matters: Graham also took a dig Microsoft Corporation decision to Use chatGPT to launch a version of its search engine Am and take over Google. He said this latest development is more surprising than a “100-year pandemic or a European war.”

The new Bing version is reportedly set to launch in March this year.

ChatGPT was made available for free testing in November last year. Microsoft backed the company with $1 billion in funding.
