Russian President Wladimir Putinaimed at the collective West at Moscow’s annual Victory Day speech, saying that “a real war is being waged against our motherland.”

What happened: In his 10-minute speech, the Russian leader expressed his desire for a peaceful future while accusing “Western elites” of spreading “hatred and Russophobia” and claiming that Ukrainians are “hostages to a coup d’état” and the ambitions of Russia is the West.
