STA SCHOOL BUS EMPLOYEES SIGN FIRST CONTRACT

Workers secure significant pay increases, Teamster 401(k) contributions, security bonuses and more

FLORISSANT, Mon., March 30, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Drivers and supervisors at Student Transportation of America (STA), represented by Teamsters Local 610, have ratified their first union agreement. The agreement affects 180 employees in the Ferguson-Florissant School District (FFSD). These new members join more than 700 other bus workers represented by Local 610.

“With this new contract, FFSD bus workers are now among the highest paid bus workers in the private sector Missouri,” called Gary DunakeyPresident of Local 610. “We are thrilled that we have been able to receive higher wages, more vacation time, bonuses, pension contributions and more in this contract. A big thank you to our members and Teamster organizers – especially Sean O’Neill And Shelley Goodman – for their leadership in this campaign and our negotiating committee for securing a well-deserved contract for the FFSD bus workers.”

The new contract includes increased wages, a $250 Ratification bonuses, Teamsters 401(k) dues, funeral and jury payments, additional paid holidays, and higher annual safety awards for accident-free drivers.

Teamsters Local 610 represents thousands of workers in student transportation and other trades Greater St.Louis.
