An English rock band that has been around for more than 60 years is the subject of censorship Twitterthe social media platform of Elon Musk.

Here’s the likely reason why and what one band member says about Musk.

What happened: The social media platform Twitter was taken over by Elon Musk $44 billion in 2022.

Since acquiring the platform, Musk has made many changes, with a focus on removing bots and spam, increasing engagement, and boosting monetization efforts.

Some of the changes were well received, others not so much.

Some of the changes will lose potential censorship and community feedback logs that could limit the visibility of certain posts.

UK band The kinks reportedly see the results of alerts placed on tweets.

“Dear Elon Musk, would Twitter please stop warning everything about The Kinks. We’re just trying to promote our Kinks music”, Kinks founding member and guitarist David Davis tweeted.

Davies shared a screenshot of a tweet about a video from The Kinks that included a warning stating, “We’ve flagged this tweet as it may contain sensitive content.”

As a result, Davies’ posts may appear less frequently on the Twitter timeline.

In this case, the Twitter algorithm seems to be attacking the band’s name, confusing it with websites that could be associated with fetishism or sexual content.

Davies went on to talk about the band’s success and their long history.

“The Kinks are a brand name. We’ve been The Kinks since 1963.”

Davies also said the word robot should be banned as robots are “ruining our lives”.

“At least I’m a kink and not a bloody robot.”

Another user on Twitter suggested Davies to change his band’s name to something more family and promotional friendly.

Davies wasn’t a fan of the proposal but jokingly offered the possible name change from “The Elons”.
