Would you like to increase your value by at least 50%? If so, billionaire Warren Buffett has the tip for you.

What you should know: Berkshire Hathaway Inc (NYSE: BRK-A) (NYSE: BRK-B) Chairman and CEO Buffett once said that improving communication is an easy way to increase your own value.

“The only easy way to become worth at least 50% more than you are now is to improve your communication skills — both written and verbal,” the legendary investor said in a LinkedIn video, according to CNBC report.

“If you can’t communicate, it’s like winking at a girl in the dark – nothing happens. You can have all the intelligence in the world, but you have to be able to transfer it,” he added.

Buffett struggled with communication when he was young, and if it wasn’t for one $100 college coursehe probably wouldn’t be where he is today.

The “Oracle of Omaha” had an extreme fear of public speaking during his teenage years. In his early college days, he only signed up for classes that he knew he didn’t have to present in front of the room, per separate report.

He owes much of his success to a public speaking course he enrolled in shortly after graduating from Columbia Business School.

Before taking the class, he literally “puked” at the thought of speaking in front of others. By the time he finished the 12 week course, he felt much more comfortable with his communication skills.
