“Russia went to Ukraine as it seemed like a no-brainer. I don’t think Taiwan looks more like a cakewalk,” he added.

Munger’s comments keep coming when the Xi government increased the military and political pressure to try to get Taipei to accept Beijing’s sovereigntyincluding staging war games near the island and fighter jets in Taiwan’s air defense zone.

Meanwhile, the US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman called on all countries on Wednesday to warn Beijing about the conflict over Taiwan.

The senior US diplomat said Washington hopes China will not use visits by US lawmakers to Taiwan as a pretext for military actionamid speculation that Kevin McCarthy, who took over the House of Representatives in January may soon visit the self-governing island nation.
